There is even a wonderful sense of satire on authors present, with Chandler poking fun at top-selling authors who write for profit and not for artistic merit, as is shown with Roger Wade.

I’ve rarely read a book with a style as distinctive as Raymond Chandler’s, but the fact that that style is not distinctive in noir films and modern films that greatly borrow from the genre, it’s kind of difficult for me rqimond appreciate.
